Senior Tamia Walker set a school record as Caldwell County’s girls won a six-team track meet Tuesday at Muhlenberg County.
Walker turned in a time of 12.41 seconds in the 100-meter dash to eclipse the previous school mark of 12.83, set by Nikki Payne in 2012.
The Lady Tigers totaled 135.5 points in the meet to outdistance runner-up Butler County’s 99.5 points.
Muhlenberg County (61 points) was third, followed by Hancock County (59.5), Todd County Central (51) and McLean County (44.5).
Caldwell had two other placers in the 100-meter dash, with Chenoa Brisbin finishing fifth in 15.1 seconds and Christina Thatcher sixth in 15.1.
Kaylee Brown won the discus competition with a throw of 65 feet, 11 inches. Emma Ward was fifth for the Lady Tigers at 58 feet while Makenzie Sanders was sixth at 55 feet, 1 inch.
Kylee White took first place in the 1,600-meter run in 6:35.1 while teammate Addyson Schott was third in 6:43.5.
Ava Pickett won the 400-meter dash competition in 1:10.8.
The Lady Tigers took first in the 4×400-meter relay in 5:16.4.
They won the 4×800 in a time of 13:11.2.
Caldwell’s girls took the 4×100 relay in 57.8 seconds. Caldwell’s B team was third in 1:03.3.
Jordan Ortt was second in the 800-meter run in 3:00.1.
Brown placed third in the shot put at 24 feet, 3 inches.
In the 200-meter dash, Marriah Merritt finished second in 29.1 seconds while Benashka Thomas was fourth in 29.7 seconds.
Caldwell had four girls place in the long jump. Walker was third at 14 feet, 7 inches. T.J. Goodwin tied for fourth at 13 feet. Ortt was sixth at 11 feet, 10 inches, and Thatcher tied for seventh at 11 feet, 8 inches.
The Lady Tigers were third in the 4×200 relay in 2:19.45.
Caldwell’s track teams will compete at Marshall County next Tuesday, May 4.
