Caldwell County’s guys established a pair of school records during a runner-up showing in a six-team track meet at Muhlenberg County on Tuesday.
Ethan Weatherspoon took first in the 100-meter dash in a time of 11.09 seconds. That tops the previous school mark of 11.24 seconds by Javon Brown in 2011.
Baron Wells also topped the old record, finishing second in the 100 dash on Tuesday in 11.16 seconds.
Cooper Mobley was eighth in the 100 dash in 12.3.
Meanwhile, the 4×200-meter relay team of Giovante Riley. Wells, Weatherspoon and Blake Vivrette was first in a school-record time of 1:35.00. The previous mark was 1:35.70, set in 2015.
Caldwell’s B team was sixth in the 4×200 in 1:58.40.
The Tigers took first in the 4×100 relay in 45.8 seconds. The B team was fifth in 52.2 seconds.
Wells won the 200-meter dash competition in 23.3 seconds while Vivrette was second in 23.5 seconds.
Caldwell claimed the first four places in the long jump. Elijah Shaheen was first with a leap of 18 feet, 10 inches. Vivrette was second at 18 feet, 1 inches. Riley was third at 17 feet, 9 inches. Joyner finished fourth at 17 feet, 8 inches,
The 4×400-meter relay team finished third in 4:11.5.
The 4×800 squad placed fourth in 11:37.0.
In the 300-meter hurdles, Isaiah Joyner placed fourth in 51.0 seconds while Jamison Stevenson was fifth in 1:07.5.
Canyon Richardson claimed a fifth-place showing in the 400-meter dash in 56.8 seconds.
Butler County won the team title with 141 points while Caldwell was second with 124. Muhlenberg placed third with 116 points, followed by Todd County Central (74), McLean County (72) and Hancock County (44).
Caldwell’s track teams will compete at Marshall County next Tuesday, May 4.
