Tomas Duncan will graduate from University Heights Academy as the most decorated runner in the school’s history. Next, he will look to make his mark at Coastal Carolina. The UHA senior has committed to the Big South Conference School.
Duncan is a multiple All-State selection in cross country and repeated as the Area 1 Class A Runner of the Year by the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association in 2020.
He finished in the top-five of seven of the eight cross country invitationals he entered in 2020. His time of 16:06 in winning the KTCCCA Meet of Champions on Oct. 17 set a new school record.
In addition to winning the Warren East Invitational, Duncan won the region title for the fourth straight year. He finished fourth at the Class 1A State Meet for the second straight year, marking the best finish ever for a Blazer runner.
Duncan is also the holder of three school records in track and field, one of which was set last week in the 1600-meter run.
Coastal Carolina is an NCAA Division I school that competes in the Big South Conference.
