Caldwell’s Girls Fall at Home to Madisonville 6-2

The Madisonville-North Hopkins girls picked up a 6-2 win in tennis action at Caldwell County on Friday.

The Lady Tigers picked up one singles win and one doubles victory in the contest.

Avery Ritchey took Caldwell’s lone win in singles, beating Emma Evans 8-6.

But Madisonville took the other five matches — Megan Oakley turned back Josie Shaffer 6-1, 6-1, Olivia Burris rallied past Rachel McClung 8-6, Abby Harris defeated Keegan Miller 8-5 and Jordan Durst blanked Emma Peake 8-0.

In doubles, Avery and Shaffer picked up an 8-6 win for Caldwell over Rylee Henson and Durst.

But Madisonville claimed the other two doubles matches. Oakley and Burris edged McClung and Miller 3-6, 6-2, 10-7, while Emily Pinkerton and Evans downed Peake and Shaffer 8-4.

The Lady Tigers won 5-4 earlier this season when the teams met in Madisonville.
