Senior hurler Austin Long blanked Carlisle County on four base hits as Lyon County picked up a 6-0 victory on the road on Saturday afternoon.
Long struck out 13 and walked just one while making things difficult for the Comets (10-8).
Meanwhile, the Lyons backed him with home runs by Aiden Rush, Brody Williams and Travis Yancy as Lyon ran its season-long win streak to six games.
Williams drove home the first run of the game in the top of the first inning with a sacrifice fly to to left. That scored Gunnar Bingham, who reached on an error to start the game.
Rush’s two-run home run with two outs in the third inning made it 3-0. Williams doubled to start the inning and scored on Rush’s shot to left field.
Williams delivered a two-run tater of his own in the top of the fifth inning. Bingham was hit by a pitch to start the frame. Williams followed with his blast to right field, making it a 5-0 ballgame.
The Lyons tacked on one more run in the top of the seventh when Yancy homered to left to lead off the inning.
Williams finished 2-for-3 at the plate while knocking in three runs. Eli Baker was also 2-for-3.
Carlisle had just one extra-base hit in the contest — a double by Brady Sasseen.
Long needed 96 pitches for his complete-game gem, throwing 66 strikes.
Saturday’s game was originally set to be played in Eddyville, but was moved because of wet field conditions.
The Lyons (11-3) are next scheduled to host 5th District foe Trigg County on Monday.
