Chase Atkins finished in sixth place at the 11th annual Kentucky Dream Mile Friday in Louisville.
The Hopkinsville High School senior came into the race with the sixth-best time at 4:23.26. He ran a near-identical time of 4:23.32 to finish sixth in the race that features the top 15 mile runners in the state regardless of class.
There was no Dream Mile in 2020 due to COVID-19.
Nolan Hester of St. Xavier won the race on his home track with a time of 4:18.82. Madisonville’s Jackson Watts finished second in 4:21.85.
