The Christian County Colonels were held to just one base hit in a 10-3 loss to the host school at the South Warren Lumberjack Classic on Saturday.

Four Spartan pitchers combined to give up just one earned run and a sixth-inning double by Joshua Snorton.

Down 9-0, Christian (3-12) scored all of its runs in the top of the sixth. George Forrest was hit by a pitch and later came in on a wild pitch. A pair of unearned runs scored later when Houston George’s liner into centerfield was misplayed.

South Warren (12-4) scored in each of the first three innings to build its lead. That includes three runs in the second and five runs in the third.

The Spartans picked up their final run in the bottom of the sixth.

Riley Saxton and Dane Isable were each 2-for-3 at the plate for South Warren while Trevor McNaughton was 2-for-4.

Starting pitcher Thomas Lambert blanked Christian over the first three innings to pick up the win on the mound.

The Colonels have dropped their last four outings. They will return to action on Tuesday when they host Trigg County.
