Moyd, Wood Lead Hoptown Girls to 2nd-Place at Hoptown Invitational

Hopkinsville’s Lori Moyd won both the shot put and the discus and Allison Wood excelled in the distance events to help the girls’ track team to a runner-up finish at Saturday’s Hopkinsville Invitational.

The Lady Tigers amassed 99.50 points, second to UHA’s 120, while topping 3rd-place Trigg County by 6.50 points.

Top Hopkinsville Scorers

Lori Moyd – 1st in the shot put (32-11.00); 1st in the discus (86-03.50).

Allison Wood – 1st in the 3200-meter run (12:46.54); 2nd in the 1600-meter run (5:34.03); 3rd in the 800-meter run (2:42.20).

Tara Ladd – 5th in the 100-meter dash (14.12); 6th in the 200-meter dash (29.71).

Anniriah Settles – 3rd in the 400-meter dash (1:10.52).

Dashiya Radford – 5th in the 400-meter dash (1:11.17).

LaTaijha Cherry – 2nd in the high jump (4-08.00).

Alexandria Williams – 8th in the shot put (24-04.00); 5th in the discus (65-05.25).

The 4×100-meter relay team finished 2nd (54.82); the 4×200-meter relay team finished 3rd (1:57.65); the 4×400-meter relay team finished 5th (5:13.95); the 4×800-meter relay team finished 2nd (11:29.52).
