Sam Brown cooled off the Todd County Central bats with a two-hit shutout Wednesday as Logan County beat the Rebels 8-0 in Elkton.
Brown struck out eight and walked five in moving to 3-2 and lowering his season ERA to 1.56. He was also aided by three double plays turned behind him.
Zach Yates had two doubles and two RBIs for Logan County, who scored two runs in the first inning and one more in the second.
Kruise Newman hit his first homer of the season as part of a two-hit and two-RBI day. Davin Yates also had three hits for Logan County, who moved its season record to 10-8 with its 27th straight win over Todd County dating back to 2010.
Preston Rager and Ethan Bicksler had Todd County’s two hits in the contest.
Todd County fell to 13-6 and will play Butler County Thursday.
