Hopkinsville High School has turned to one of its own to take over the girls’ soccer program at the school. Officials announced Friday morning that Ben Russell had been selected to replace Jeff Addison, who announced in late March that he was stepping down from the position after 18 seasons.
Russell spent ten years as an assistant to Addison with the Lady Tiger soccer program. He briefly served as soccer coach at Heritage Christian Academy during the 2019 soccer season.
Russell is a Hopkinsville graduate and played soccer for the Tigers. He was named to the All-State Soccer Team as a goalie following his senior season as a player.
In addition to his duties with the Lady Tiger soccer program, Russell has also coached with the Ambush Soccer program and is now coaching with the Valor United F.C.
