
The Fort Campbell Lady Falcons have now won five of their last six games following a doubleheader sweep at Fort Knox Saturday. The Lady Falcons cruised through the opener 17-2 in five innings and then were more dominant in the second game with a 24-1 win over the Lady Eagles.
In the opener, the Lady Falcons scored in every inning but the third inning. Fort Campbell plated three in the first, five in the second, three in the fourth, and six more in the fifth. The Lady Falcons scored their runs on just eight hits.
Fort Campbell took full benefit of 17 walks given up by Fort Knox pitching.
Kiley McCrary had a solid game at the plate going 3-4 with a double and four RBIs. Anika Weisbrich ended the game 1-2 with a double and four RBIs. Carrie McCrary chipped in by going 1-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored.
In the circle, Kiley McCrary went five innings, giving up two runs, none of them earned, on three hits, striking out twelve, while walking three.
In the second game of the day, the Lady Falcons settled the issue early, scoring 16 runs in the top of the first inning. Fort Knox pitching woes were brutal at the beginning of the second game, as the Lady Eagles gave up ten walks and four hit batters in the first inning alone.
Fort Campbell would add four more runs in the second and another four in the third to close out the win. The Lady Falcons would score their 24 runs on just five hits.
Kiley McCrary was 3-3 at the plate with a home run, three RBIs, and a run scored. Samantha Forristal finished 1-3 with a double, three RBIs, and two runs scored. Fort Knox pitching would end up giving up 21 walks and four hit batters in the three innings.
In the circle, Carrie McCrary went all three innings, giving up one earned run on two hits, striking out four, while walking six.
With the two wins, the Lady Falcons now stand at 5-10 on the year. They are set to return to the field Tuesday evening at Hopkinsville.
