The University Heights Academy Blazers rocked Hopkins Central pitching for 17 hits as they rolled to a 20-10 six-inning home-field win Saturday. The win gives the Blazers two in a row after they broke a nine-game losing streak by taking out Webster County Friday night.

The Blazers roughed up four Storm pitchers in the contest. UHA scored five in the first, one in the second, five more in the third, one in the fourth, six in the fifth, and then closed out the game with two runs in the bottom of the sixth.

Despite the big numbers for the Blazers, they really did not get the Storm put away until the big six-run inning in the bottom of the fifth. Going into that half of the inning, the Blazers held only a 12-10 lead.

It was a huge day for the Blazers’ Ty Hunt. Hunt went 4-6 with two doubles, six RBIs, and three runs scored. Nic Luckey was 1-4 with four RBIs and a run scored. Seth Hancock finished the day 5-5 with two doubles, an RBI, and four runs scored.

Eston Glover, Ben Stone, and Luke Welch had two RBIs apiece.

Ian Tyler picked up the win for UHA in relief. He pitched 2 and 1/3-innings, giving up three runs on four hits, striking out two, and walking two.

The Blazers move to 7-14 with the victory. They are set to return to action Tuesday in a return matchup at Hopkins Central.
