Caldwell County track coach Steve Shaw has been named the 2021 Coach of the Year by the 2nd Region Athletic Directors Association.
Shaw has built the numbers back up in the Caldwell program, with over 50 participants this season on the Tigers and Lady Tigers combined.
Caldwell’s girls have won meets this season at McLean County, Hopkins County Central (twice), Crittenden County and Muhlenberg County.
Caldwell’s guys have won meets at McLean County and Hopkins Central (twice) and were second in a six-team meet at Muhlenberg County.
The award was announced this past week by the region’s athletic directors, who also named Caldwell County’s Tate VanHooser the Male Athlete of the Year and Lyon County’s Calista Collins the Female Athlete of the Year.
