Hoptown Lady Tigers Take 3rd at Tennis Sectionals

The Hopkinsville Lady Tigers’ tennis team split a pair of matches Saturday to come home with 3rd place in the girls’ tennis sectionals in Paducah. The Lady Tigers fell to Greenwood in their first match of the day, one that was cut short due to weather conditions forcing the event indoors. Hopkinsville then rebounded to take the third-place match over Paducah Tilghman.

The Saturday matches followed the Lady Tigers’ win over Webster County Friday evening.

In the match against Greenwood, the Lady Gators won 3-0, but the Lady Tigers were winning both doubles matches at the time they were called off.

Girls Singles
Arden Dethridge (GHS) def Sophie Maddux (HHS) 6-0, 6-0
Greer Glosick (GHS) def Abby Moss (HHS) 6-1, 6-0
Kate Young (GHS) def Morgan Woosley (HHS) 6-0, 6-0

Girls Doubles
Allie Fort/Ella Lester (HHS) were leading Olghameyer/Olgameyer 6-3
Elaine Baker/Ella Brown (HHS) were leading Trinh/Kuyendale 6-4

 

In the third-place match against Paducah Tilghman, Hopkinsville took the match 3-2. Hopkinsville won two of the three singles matches and then split th two doubles matches.
