The Todd County Central Rebels came away with a split of a pair of games Saturday afternoon in Dixon. In the opener, the Rebels were limited to just a single run by Hickman County pitcher Walkler McLanahan as the Falcons cruised to a 7-1 win.
The Rebels then rebounded from the loss by taking care of Webster County 11-1 to pick up their 14th win of the season.
In the opening game of the day McLanahan was in the control from the opening inning. He limited the Rebels to five hits over his seven innings of work, striking out eight, while walking four.
The Rebels’ run came in the top of the 5th inning when Zack Robinson drove in Jase Hampton with an infield single to make it a 2-1 ballgame.
The Falcons came right back with two runs in the bottom half of the inning and then added three more in the bottom of the sixth to take the win.
In the second game of the day, it was Todd County Central that got the strong pitching performance, as Jacob Brandon gave up only three hits over 6-innings as the Rebels rolled to an 11-1 win over Webster County. Brandon struck out seven and walked three in picking up the win.
Preston Rager, Tanner Farmer, and Jamison Hunt, all had two-hit days for Todd County Central. Farmer had a double included among his hits. Farmer also had three RBI’s for the Rebels.
The Rebels scored a run in the first and two more in the second to take the early 3-0 lead. They blew the game open with one more in the fifth, three more in the sixth, and four in the top of the 7th to make it 11-0 before the Trojans broke through for a run in the bottom of the 7th,
The Rebels pounded out 11 hits in the game and took advantage of two Trojan errors.
Todd County Central now stands at 14-7 on the season. They travel to Franklin-Simpson Tuesday evening for a 13th District matchup.
