Wood, Moyd Pace Hoptown Track at Owensboro

Led by a strong distance day from Allison Wood and a good day of throwing by Lori Moyd, Hopkinsville finished in eighth place Saturday at the Owensboro Red Devil Invitational.

Wood won both the 1600-meter and 3200-meter runs, missing a school record in the 1600 by less than five seconds.

Meanwhile, Moyd finished third in the shot put and sixth in the discus throw.

In the team standings, Hopkinsville finished a half-point behind seventh-place Bowling Green.  North Hardin and South Warren finished 1-2.

Allison Wood – 1st in the 1600-meter run [5:36.66]; 1st in the 3200-meter run [12:15.69]

Lori Moyd – 3rd in the shot put [30-10]; 6th in the discus throw [86-04]

La’Taijha Cherry – 5th in the high jump [4-06]

Tara Ladd – 8th in the 100-meter dash [13.64]; 13th in the 200-meter dash [29.50]

Dashiya Radford – 11th in the 400-meter run [1:13.45]

Alexandria Williams – 11th in the shot put [24-09.50]; 14th in the discus throw [65-05]

Noella Tucker – 12th in the 400-meter run [1:13.64]

Rebecca Wood – 13th in the 1600-meter run [6:44.45]; 15th in the 800-meter run [3:06.13]

Eva Blankenberger – 17th in the 800-meter run [3:21.88]

Jayla Tucker – 18th in the 200-meter dash [31.09]

Antavia Shemwell – 20th in the 100-meter dash [15.53]

 

The 3200-meter relay team of Eva Blankenberger, Jessie Creamer, Dana Hardison, and Hailey Cordero finished sixth in a time of 14:00.74.
