Seven Run Fifth Carries Hopkinsville Past Christian County

The Hopkinsville Tigers used a big fifth inning to subdue the Christian County Colonels and pick up their 14th win of the season Thursday evening. The Tigers scored seven in the inning and broke open a 3-2 game on their way to a 12-2 six-inning win over the Colonels.

Hoptown got RBI singles from Tim Cansler, Jacob Dilday, Ryan Myers, and Landon Snyder as part of the rally that broke the game open.

The Tigers would then go on to close out the game with a pair of runs in the top of the 6th inning.

The Colonels were their own worst enemies at times during the game. Christian County was charged with five errors over the six innings of the contest.

On the mound, Jacob Dilday gave the Tigers a solid performance. Dilday went the full six innings, giving up two earned runs, on just two hits, striking out eight, while walking only one.

Elijah Underhill did all of the damage at the plate for Christian County. He was 2-2 with a home run, two RBIs, and a run scored.

Zach Moss and Jacob Dilday each had three hits for the Tigers. Landon Snyder led the team with two RBIs. Five other Tigers drove in one run apiece.

The win improves Hopkinsville to 14-5 on the season. Christian County drops to 3-15.
