Carter Gibson was 2-for-4 with four runs batted in while Dylan Jewell went 2-for-3 to lead the Comets, who had lost three times previously to the Tigers.
Meanwhile, Truman Davis gave up just one run on five base hits to Caldwell. He struck out seven and walked two in the five-inning affair.
Tate VanHooser was 2-for-3 at the plate for Caldwell while Hunter Newsom went 2-for-2. Carter Whittington was 1-for-2 and drove in the Tigers’ only run in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Carlisle (15-10) got two runs in the first inning, but added four runs in the fourth and sixth more in the fifth to end the game early on the 10-run mercy rule.
The Tigers (8-11) were hurt by five errors in the contest. Only half of Carlisle’s runs were earned.
The Comets have won five of their last six games.
Caldwell has lost three games this week after climbing back to the .500 mark last Saturday.
The Tigers are next scheduled to host 7th District foe Hopkins County Central on Monday.
