5-15-fowler

Crooked numbers were in abundance for Heritage Christian Academy Friday as they handed the Owensboro Knights a 20-9 loss Friday.

HCA scored multiple runs in every inning but one and put 10 runs on the board in the sixth inning.

The Warriors sent 15 batters to plate in the sixth and extended their lead from 10-5 to 20-5.

Trenton Hayes had three hits, including a double, and knocked in three runs.  Tra Fowler also drove in three runs and had a double as part of a two-hit day.  Weston Powell had a pair of hits and knocked in four runs.  Walker Ashby also got in on the hitting fun with a double and two RBIs.

David Jent had a good day on the base paths with three stolen bases and two runs scored.

Three different Warrior pitchers combined on a four-hitter. Trenton Hayes struck out four and allowed two hits in two innings of work. J.J. Thompson didn’t allow a hit and fanned eight in three innings of work, and Walker Ashby pitched an inning and racked up three strikeouts as part of a 15-K performance by the HCA hurlers.

HCA will play at Bluegrass United Monday in Bowling Green in its regular-season finale. The Warriors begin KCAA postseason play on May 25.
