For three innings Friday night, it looked as if the game between the Christian County Lady Colonels and the Henderson County Lady Colonels might come down to the wire. However, it did not end up that way.

Henderson County scored ten unanswered runs over the fourth, fifth, and sixth innings to run away from the southern Lady Colonels and pick up a 10-1 win, handing Christian County its second loss in as many nights.

Henderson County 8th grader Anna Kemp was dominant in the circle throughout the game. Kemp allowed Christian County one run on just two hits while striking out seven and walking two over seven innings of work.

Christian County took the early lead in the top of the first without the benefit of a hit. Pickle Winkler walked, stole second, advanced to third on a wild pitch, and then scored on a sac fly to make it 1-0.

The game would stay that way until the bottom of the fourth when the Henderson County offense got things going. Kendal Hargrove homered in the bottom of the 4th to tie things up at 1-1.

The Henderson offense erupted for six runs in the bottom of the 5th inning to blow the lead out to 7-1. The big blow in the inning was a two-run homer off the bat of freshman Taylor Troutman. Henderson would add three more runs in the bottom of the 6th to close out the scoring.

Pickle Winkler and Reni Shemwell had one hit each for Christian County.

Christian County did not help their cause in the field, as the Lady Colonels were charged with three errors over the course of the game.

Christian County drops to 16-7 with the loss, which was the third over the last four games. They return home Saturday to take on Logan County and Lyon County.
