Playing on his home course, Marshall County’s Trey Wall won the Marshall Strong Classic by eight shots Sunday and fired the only below-par round of the two-day event.
Wall’s Saturday scorecard included four birdies and two bogeys for a 2-under 70. He followed that Sunday with a 1-over 73 in winning the 15-18 age group.
Madisonville’s Jackson Hill shot a 1-over 73 in the first round, which included four birdies. He followed Sunday with a 6-over 78 to finish at 7-over.
Trigg County’s Hunter Reynolds finished in 10th place at 14-over par. He found the second day tougher than the first, adding six shots to his first-day finish.
UHA senior Jiles Wyatt was 11th at 15-over, and Hopkinsville High senior James Folz was 12th at 17-over par.
Trigg County’s Ty Butts tied for 20th place at 30-over par.
The two-day event at the Calvert City Country Club was the first western Kentucky stop for the Kentucky Junior PGA Tour.
