The Christian County Colonels saw their three-game winning streak come to an end on the road at Warren East Tuesday evening. The Raiders scored seven runs in the bottom of the first inning and rolled on from there to a 15-5 six-inning win.
Warren East opened fast, scoring five runs before the Colonels were able to get the first out against the Raiders. Warren East would add two more before the inning was over to lead 7-0.
The Raiders kept rolling right along in the bottom of the second. Warren East put three hits together with three walks and a hit batter to score four more and extend the lead to 11-0 just two innings into the game.
The Colonels finally broke through in the top of the fourth with an RBI single from Carter Sholar to cut the lead to 11-1.
The Raiders got that run back and two others on a three-run blast in the bottom of the inning to make it 14-1.
Christian County used a Warren East error and a two-run double from Carter Sholar to have its best inning of the night with four runs in the top of the fifth to cut the margin to 14-5.
Warren East would then end the night a little early with a run in the bottom of the 6th to finish the game at 15-5.
Carter Sholar had a big night for Christian County going 3-3 with a double and three RBI’s. George Forrest and Josh Snorton had the other hits for the Colonels.
Christian County drops to 6-16 with the loss. The Colonels are set to get back to action Saturday when they host Hopkins County Central.
