Caldwell County senior Tate VanHooser has been selected as the winner of the Barry Lutz/Jim Dorris Memorial Scholarship.
That award is voted on by the 2nd Region Umpires Association.
The award features a $500 scholarship.
VanHooser, who will play college baseball at Rend Lake, is hitting .422 this season for Caldwell with two home runs and a team-high 21 runs batted in.
