7-Run 4th Inning Carries Lady Lyons Past Caldwell 15-8

Down 6-5 after three innings at Caldwell County, Lyon County dialed up a big offensive frame in the top of the fourth to take the lead for good.

Gracen Wynn blasted a grand slam to left field and the Lady Lyons put up a seven-spot on the way to a 15-8 triumph on Monday.

Lyon, now 22-9, pounded out 17 base hits in the contest.

Sydney Melton also homered for the Lady Lyons and went 3-for-4 at the plate with two runs batted in. Lilly Perry went 4-for-4 with a double. Lauren Davis was 3-for-5 with a double and three runs batted in while Kaelyn Conger was 2-for-4 with a double and a pair of runs batted in.

Hadlie Butler finished 2-for-5 for Lyon with a double while knocking in three runs. Katelyn Dykes went 2-for-5 with a double.

Caldwell (10-13) had used a three-run third inning to take its 6-5 advantage after falling behind 5-2 early.

For the Lady Tigers, Majah Hollowell was 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and two runs batted in. Alicia Stanley went 3-for-4.

Harper Holeman and A.J. Hollowell each went 2-for-5 with a triple and an RBI. Brylee Butts and Rylee Thompson were both 2-for-4 with a run batted in.

Lilly Perry picked up the win in the pitching circle for Lyon. She went the final 4.2 innings in relief of Tori Schenk, allowing just one earned run on five base hits.

The Lady Lyons have topped the Lady Tigers three times this season to close to within 27-25 in the all-time series.

Caldwell’s girls are on the road today when they play at Univesrity Heights Academy.

Lyon County will host Calloway County on Tuesday.
