The Caldwell County doubles team of Emma Peake and Avery Ritchie advanced to the quarterfinals of the Girls’ Region 2 Tennis Tournament Monday in Henderson.
The Lady Tiger duo opened with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Union County’s Nevaeh Driesbach and Allison Deibler. In the quarterfinals, they fell to the tourney’s No. 2 seed from Henderson County – Cameron Chandler and Merrick Conkright 6-0, 6-0.
Rachael McClung and Keegan Miller ran into the tournament’s top seed Ella Lester and Allie Fort in the opener, losing 6-0, 6-0.
In singles’ play, Josie Shaffer moved into the quarterfinals after her first-round opponent defaulted due to injury. She lost to the tournament’s top seed Victoria Lopez Rodriguez of Fort Campbell 6-0, 6-0 in the semifinals.
