Just a night after they picked up their 20th win of the season, the Todd County Central Rebels called “black-jack.” The Rebels used a 10-run third inning to end the game as they rolled past Fort Campbell to pick up their 21st win of the 2021 season.
The Rebels settled this one early. Todd Central scored five runs in the bottom of the first and then added their big inning in the third to bring the three-inning mercy rule into play.
The Rebels used 14 hits, along with three Falcon errors to score their 15 runs.
In the 10-run third inning, the first eight batters for the Rebels all reached base. The big blow in the inning was a grand slam off the bat of Preston Rager.
Rager would finish the game 2-3, with the grand slam, a double, 4 RBIs, and two runs scored. Jacob Brandon finished 3-3, with a double, 3 RBIs, and three runs scored. Jase Hampton was 3-3, with a double, 5 RBIs, and a run scored.
Aidan Blaszkowski had the only hit of the game for the Falcons.
Jacob Brandon went the distance on the mound for the Rebels, giving up no runs on one hit, striking out five, while walking none.
Todd Central improves to 21-9 with the win, while Fort Campbell drops to 0-20 with the loss.
