Two years ago, as a freshman, Sophie Maddux qualified for the state tennis tournament as one half of a doubles team with former Lady Tiger Skylar Ray. This year, she is headed back to the state tournament but headed back as the regional runner-up in girls’ singles play. After Maddux finished her regional appearance Tuesday evening, she spoke with YSE about going back to state.
