Three area softball players have been selected to play in the Kentucky Prep Softball East-West Series coming up in June. The players on the senior and junior teams were selected by members of the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association.
Among the players selected to the West Seniors squad was Christian County’s Reni Shemwell. As of Friday morning, Shemwell was batting .419 with 13 home runs and 40 RBIs.
Also selected to the West Seniors is Lyon County’s Sydney Melton. Melton is hitting .418 with 16 home runs and 39 RBIs.
Selected to the West Juniors is Christian County’s Pickle Winkler. The U of L commit is hitting .532 with 5 home runs and 34 RBIs. Winkler also has 36 stolen bases on the year.
The 2021 series will take place June 21-23 at South Warren High School.
