Caldwell Tracksters Place Fourth at Region Meet

At least one relay team and Blake Vivrette from Caldwell County have qualified for next month’s Class 2A State Track and Field Meet.

Vivrette is headed to the state meet after a second-place finish in the high jump at Saturday’s region meet in Paducah. The junior cleared the bar in 5-feet, 10-inches.  He also finished fourth in the 400-meter dash [52.8] and fifth in the 200-meter dash [24.3].

The 800-meter relay team of Giovantie Riley, Blake Vivrette, Baron Wells, and Ethan Weatherspoon qualified for the state meet with a second-place finish in a time of 1:32.4.

Four other Tigers finished in fourth place and must wait to see if they qualify as an at-large entry.

As a team, Caldwell County finished fourth behind region champion Calloway County, runner-up Paducah Tilghman, and Trigg County.

Isaiah Joyner – 4th in the 110-meter hurdles [22.1]; 4th in the 300-meter hurdles [49.3]; 4th in the triple jump [36-10]

Baron Wells – 4th in the 200-meter dash [23.5]; 6th in the 100-meter dash [11.7]

Giovantie Riley – 5th in the long jump [18-02]

Cooper Mobley – 6th in the shot put [33-00.75]

Ethan Ward – 6th in the discus throw [90-07]

Jordan Ladd – 7th in the shot put [27-08.75]; 7th in the discus throw [81-06]

Max Heaton – 7th in the 300-meter hurdles [59.6]

Trayton Freeman – 8th in the 1600-meter run [6:13.5]

Cale Goodwin – 8th in the triple jump [27-01]

Cale Goodwin – 9th in the 1600-meter run [6:28.9]

Giovanie Riley – 10th in the 800-meter run [2:40.4]

 

The 400-meter relay team of Giovatie Riley, Elijah Shaheen, Baron Wells, and Ethan Weatherspoon finished third in 45.4 seconds.

The 1600-meter relay team of Giovanie Riley, Isaiah Joyner, Giovantie Riley, and Canyon Richardson was sixth in 4:12.19.
