Trigg County qualified two individuals and two relay teams for the state track meet next month following a third-place team finish at the Class 2A Region Meet in Paducah Saturday.
DeDe Barbee won the 400-meter run with a time of 1:02.4, edging Calloway County’s Elle Carson by a second. Barbee also finished fifth in the 200-meter dash.
Riley Brame qualified for state in the 100-meter hurdles, crossing the line in 18.4 seconds. She finished fourth in the 300-meter hurdles in 53.9 seconds and finished fifth in the triple jump with a distance of 31-feet, 3-inches.
The 800-meter relay team of Fatu Crain, Iyanna Grubbs, Alliyah Thomas, and DeDe Barbee qualified for the state meet with a second-place finish in 1:50.6. The same team also qualified for state in the 1600-meter run with a second-place finish in 4:20.5.
Trigg County totaled 52 points to finish behind region champion Calloway County [192] and Paducah Tilghman [166].

The 400-meter relay team of Iyanna Grubbs, Riley Brame, Alliyah Thomas, and Fatu Crain finished third in 52.9 seconds.
