
Gunnar Bingham provided the Memorial Day fireworks with two homers and five RBIs to pace Lyon County to a 16-1 district semifinal win over Livingston Central Monday in Eddyville.
Bingham hit a three-run homer in the first as part of a five-run first inning and belted a two-run round-tripper in the third.
Brody Williams doubled and tripled as part of a three-hit, three-RBI day. Aidan Rush also had three hits and drove in four runs as the first four batters in the Lyon lineup went 8-for-13 with nine RBIs.
After Dakota Lamb singled home Ethan Ramage in the first to give Livingston a quick 1-0 lead, Lyon answered with seven runs in the home half and five more runs in the second.
Jackson Shoulders got the win with three and a third innings of two-hit baseball. He struck out four and didn’t walk a batter.
Livingston Central, whose season ended with a 5-20 record, had two hits.
Lyon County improved to 24-7 and advanced to the district championship.
