As the No. 3 seed, Caldwell County wasn’t exactly expected to win the 7th District championship.
However, the Tigers have won five of their last six games after beating Madisonville-North Hopkins 5-0 in the district final on Tuesday.
At 13-12, Caldwell is playing some of its best baseball of the season and appears to have moved into a dark horse role for the 2nd Region tournament.
Caldwell head coach Jimmy Dyer says the Tigers adopted a low-key approach to Tuesday’s district championship game.
