Former Hopkinsville High player Jonathan Beymer is on the 2021 Hoptown Hopper roster that will open its Ohio Valley League season Friday.
Beymer is a 2017 graduate of Hopkinsville High and went to Wabash Valley College out of high school. After his sophomore season, he was a 29th round draft pick of the Kansas City Royals.
Instead, Beymer chose to attend Campbell University. He redshirted in 2020 with an injury and pitched in six games. He struck out 12 in 14 innings.
The Hoppers open the 2021 season Friday against Full Count Rhythm at Christian County’s Colonel Field.
