Piper Hancock qualified for Thursday’s Class 1A state track and field meet in four events. She was a member of three relay-winning teams with the last win coming after a close loss in the 800-meter run.
The University Heights Academy junior said the close loss in the 800 meters motivated her to help the 1600-meter relay team win the region title easily.
