Two-sport standout Samantha Case anchors two teams at Todd County Central High School, serving as goalkeeper for the Lady Rebels’ soccer team and excelling as a catcher on the softball field.

A two-year starter between the posts, Case averaged just under ten saves a game as a sophomore while holding opposition to less than three goals per outing.  She recorded five shutouts, helping the Lady Rebels to a 10-11 season.

She returned to the pitch as a junior, once again allowing fewer than three goals per game and posting four shutouts.

After batting .333 as a freshman, Case enjoyed a breakout year on the diamond as a junior, hitting a team-high .505 and eclipsing the program’s single-season home run record with seven.

She also led the Lady Rebels in runs (34), hits (46), RBI (37), doubles (14), and tied for the team lead with twelve stolen bases in twelve attempts.

YSE caught up with Case recently to discuss her power surge and what’s in store for next season’s softball team, while also getting up to speed on her summer soccer plans.
