Lyon County’s Katelyn Dykes has capped off her senior season by being one of four Lyon County Lady Lyons to be honored by the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association. Dykes was among the players across the state to be named to the 2021 Class 1A All-State Second Team.
As a senior, Dykes was a big part of the Lyon County team that reached the 2nd Region semifinals and won the 2021 All A state championship. The Lady Lyons finished the 2021 season with a record of 26-10.
Dykes led the Lady Lyons in hitting, ending the year with a batting average of .486. She was second on the team in hits with 52. Dykes was also second on the team in doubles with 12.
She was one of five players to play in all 36 games for the Lady Lyons.
Dykes’ teammates Calista Collins and Sydney Melton were named to the first team, while Kaelyn Conger was named to the second team by the state’s softball coaches.
