Trigg County alum Jaquellus Martin has been named First-Team All-State in the 200-meter dash by the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association.
Martin won the 200-meter dash at the Class 2A State Meet earlier this month in a school-record time of 22.06 seconds. The old mark of 22.15 seconds was set by Greg Bridges in 1988.
Martin joins Charles Alexander, Steve Neel, Al Baker, and Greg Bridges as Trigg athletes to win a state title in the 200 meters. However, Martin is the first Trigg athlete to win a state title in Class 2A and was the first runner from Trigg County to win an individual state title since 1995.
Martin was also named Second-Team All-State in the 100 meters after a third-place finish in 11.07 seconds. Only Al Baker has run a faster 100 meters at state in school history.
