A pair of Marshall County teammates have been named to the Kentucky Softball Coaches Association Class 3A Honorable Mention All-State Team.
Cayson Conner, a senior, hit .465 for Marshall County with three homers and 27 RBIs. She swiped 20 stolen bases in 22 attempts and scored 45 runs despite missing nine games while she played for the state runner-up Lady Marshals basketball team.
Conner struck out just once in 110 trips to the plate in 2021.
Junior Charley Pursley led the Lady Marshals with a .500 batting average. She stole 50 bases and was caught just five times. She led Marshall County with 65 hits and scored 48 runs.
While Kentucky softball is an unclassified sport, the coaches split the state into three classes for the purpose of its all-state awards given out each year.
