Sarah Keown’s first trip to the state meet medal podium was good for a pair of All-State nods by the Kentucky Track and Cross Country Coaches Association.
The Hopkins County Central alum was named First-Team All-State in the discus throw and Second-Team All-State in the shot put.
Keown set a school record in the discus throw with a heave of 104 feet that was good for second place. She finished fourth in the shot put with a toss of 33-feet. 8.5-inches — just under six inches from another school record.
The Berea College signee began throwing in the events just five weeks before the state meet after winning the region title in both.
