For Lyon County’s Cathryn Brown it was another performance firming up her position among the best young golfers in the state. Brown finished her two days at the Kentucky Girls Junior Amateur Friday with a score of 150, with that score placing her in a three-way tie for 4th place in the event.
Brown shot a two-over-par 74 Thursday and closed out the tournament with a four-over-par 76 on Friday. After struggling a little on the front nine, she had a solid finish to her day on Friday with a stretch of seven straight pars and a birdie on her final hole of the tournament.
Clara Beth Ramsey, of Richmond, took first place with a two-day total of 146. Casey Powell, of Lexington, finished second at 148. Madison Borders, of Bardstown, finished 3rd at 149.
Brown finished in the three-way tie for fourth with Macie Brown, of Mt. Washington, and Elizabeth Eberle, of Richmond.
