Henderson came up with a base hit in every inning except the 9th and took advantage of Hoptown miscues in the field as the Flash took down the Hoppers 9-4 Friday night at Christian County High School. The Flash finished the game scoring their 9 runs on a total of 13 hits.
Hopper mistakes were also crucial in the game. Hoptown was charged with four errors which led to four of the Henderson runs being unearned.
A double from Nick Rucker and a Hoptown error led to two Henderson runs in the first inning. The Hoppers came back to tie the game in the bottom half of the inning on a ground out and a sac fly after the inning started with a single from Zayd Brannigan and a double from Jake Parr.

The Flash quickly got back to the lead in the top of the 2nd. A Hopper error started the two-run inning that saw Henderson take the 4-2 lead.
Henderson extended the lead in the top of the fifth when they started the inning with back-to-back-to-back singles, the last of which was an RBI single from Ryan Dos Santos to make it a 5-2 game.
Hoptown then appeared to have things starting to go their way in the bottom of the inning. A two-run double from Jake Parr cut the lead to 5-4 and seemed to hand the momentum to the Hoppers.
That momentum was short-lived as Henderson scored twice in the top of the sixth and twice in the top of the seventh to take a 9-4 lead. From there, Flash pitcher Ethan Shafer held the Hoppers in check as Henderson cruised on out to the win.
Jake Parr and Alex Gonzales were each 2-4 for the Hoppers. The two combined for three doubles in the contest, two from Parr and one from Gonzales.
Jackson Lyons got the start for Hoptown on the mound. He went five innings, giving up five runs, only two of them earned, on nine hits. Lyons struck out four and walked two.
