Emma Talley will be one of the first golfers to tee off this week when the Volunteers of America Classic at The Colony, near Dallas, Texas, gets underway on Thursday.
Talley’s group will be the first to begin on the No. 1 tee, with a tee time of 7:20 Thursday morning at Old American Golf Club.
Joining Talley in that threesome will be Kristen Gillman of Austin, Texas, who like Talley is a former University of Alabama star, and Serbia’s Ana Belac, a former Duke standout.
In the second round on Friday, Talley’s group will start on the No. 10 tee box at 12:20 p.m.
Following Friday’s second round, the field of 144 golfers will be cut to the top 70 and ties for the final two rounds on the weekend.
Talley, who won three state championships at Caldwell County, made the cut at the Volunteers of America Classic in 2020 and finished tied for 43rd last year.
This year’s event has a $1.5 million purse.
