A former member of the University Heights Academy Lady Blazers’ soccer team is among eight recipients of a statewide scholarship. In a release Wednesday, the Kentucky Youth Soccer Association announced the recipients of the 2021 John and Sue Gropper Founders Scholarship.
The scholarships are awarded based on community service and giving back to the game of soccer. Playing soccer at the collegiate level is not a requirement of receiving a scholarship.
UHA grad Grace Pape, who is slated to attend Murray State University, was among the 2021 recipients of the scholarship. Pape played four years for the Lady Blazer soccer team.
Kentucky Youth Soccer has awarded more than $56,000 in scholarships since 2019.
