
Combining for 32 runs in a doubleheader on Monday night, Lyon County Post 68 and visiting Owensboro split a pair with Owensboro taking the first 13-5 and Post 68 getting revenge in the second 8-6.
Post 68 started slowly in the opener and trailed 5-1 before posting four runs in the fourth to tie things up. Michael Barrow and Isaac Peca both provided RBI singles and a run came in on a passed ball.
However, Owensboro put the game away with eight runs over the final two frames, with RBI singles by Jordan Tolle and Dan St. Claire in the sixth and run-scoring doubles by Cohl Proctor and St. Claire in the seventh.
Peyton Cary got the win on the mound for Owensboro, working three and a third scoreless innings with one hit and four strikeouts.
Cameron Clements was saddled with the loss for Post 68, allowing five runs on five hits with a pair of strikeouts over three and two-thirds.
Post 68 raced out to an 8-0 lead after two innings in the second matchup, with Peca and Ramage collecting RBI doubles in a five-run first and Owensboro coughing up three more in the second on a two-run error and a passed ball.
Joe Peca cruised through the first four innings for Post 68, allowing one run on one hit with five walks.
Peca struck out ten on the way to the win, allowing six runs, five earned, on five hits with nine walks.
