Lyon County’s Aidan Rush will play college baseball at Union College in Barbourville.
Union College Baseball announced that this weekend on social media.
Rush was a versatile senior this spring for Lyon’s 30-8 squad.
Rush hit .402 while helping the Lyons reach the semifinals of the KHSAA State Baseball Tournament in Lexington.
Rush led a heavy-hitting Lyon team with 42 runs batted in while also slamming six home runs. He also stole 14 bases in 16 attempts.
Rush also made 10 appearances on the mound, going 3-2 with a 4.42 earned run average.
He struck out 22 in 31.2 innings.
Rush is playing this summer for the Madisonville Post 6 American Legion squad.
Union College is an NAIA school which competes in the Appalachian Athletic Conference.
The Bulldogs went 19-27 in 2021.
