Just before the start of the 2021 soccer season, Todd County Central High School finds itself looking for a new head girls’ soccer coach. Officials at Todd Central tell YourSportsEdge.Com that Matthew Harper notified them he was stepping away from the program.
Harper gave personal reasons as the impetus behind his decision. He informed his team of the decision Tuesday afternoon.
In the COVID-19 impacted 2020 season, his only season as Todd Central coach, Harper’s Lady Rebels went 5-8, losing in the semifinals of the 13th District tournament to Franklin-Simpson in penalty kicks.
Current assistant coach Shannon Mack has been elevated to acting head coach for the Lady Rebels.
Todd Central is slated to open the season August 10 on the road at Trigg County.
