Trigg County High School has turned to a familiar face to oversee the school’s cheerleading program. School officials announced Friday that Katie Reed has been selected to be Trigg County High’s next cheerleading coach.
With the announcement, Reed returns to Trigg County High School where she started her coaching career in 2001. She has spent the past few years in Iowa, where she was the head cheer coach at Iowa Falls-Alden High School and head cheer coach at Ellsworth Community College.
Reed led a Co-ed Competition Team to a first-place finish at KHSAA Regional and earned a top 5 finish at KHSAA state during her earlier tenure. Coach Reed’s teams in Iowa earned a 4th place finish at the ICCA State Cheer Competition and placed in the top ten for the first time in school history.
