
The Caldwell County boys’ golf team opened its season Friday morning at the Murray Invitational at Murray Country Club.
The Tigers placed sixth in the team standings with a team total of 359.
Austin Crick shot an 8-over par 80 for the Tigers’ best round. Collin Whittington had an 82.
Camden McGregor carded a 96, Ryan Hammett 101 and Cole Wyatt 105.
Caldwell had three players who played as individuals on Friday. Christopher Sutton shot 103, Carter Whittington 120 and Cannon Littlejohn 132.
Marshall County took the team competition with a 302. McCracken County shot 310 while Paducah St. Mary was third at 313.
Rocco Zakutney of St. Mary was medalist with a 67.
The Tiger golfers will be in action again on Saturday when they play in the Madisonville-North Hopkins Invitational at Lakeshore Country Club in Madisonville.
That event will begin with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. Saturday.
