A pair of tough losses for the University Heights Academy Lady Blazer volleyball team during the opening day of play at the 2021 Bluegrass State Games. In pool action, the Lady Blazers dropped matches to Lexington Henry Clay and Walton-Verona.
In their opening match of the day, the Lady Blazers fell to Henry Clay 2-0. Henry Clay took the opening set 21-16. UHA pushed the Blue Devils to the edge before falling 22-20.
The second game of the day for the Lady Blazers found them squaring off against the Lady Bearcats of Walton-Verona. The Lady Blazers came out and took the opening set 21-16. Walton-Verona battled back to even the match with a 21-14 win in the second set. The young Lady Blazers then saw things get away from them a bit in the third and deciding set, falling 15-3.
UHA returns to action in the Bluegrass State games on Saturday.
