Trigg County’s golfers opened the 2021 season with a fourth-place showing at the Murray Invitational Friday morning at Murray Country Club.
The Wildcats shot a team score of 331 led by 81s from Hunter Reynolds and Haydon Reynolds.
Ty Butts shot an 84 and Tyler Ahart had an 85 for the Trigg team score.
Jay Humphries finished at 100.
Dallas Ahart, playing as an individual, shot a 91.
Marshall County took the team competition with a 302. McCracken County shot 310 while Paducah St. Mary was third at 313.
Rocco Zakutney of St. Mary was medalist with a 67.
Marshall’s Trey Wall and McCracken’s Abe Dumas were next at 70.
Paducah Tilghman’s Jack Butts was fourth with a 73 while Camryn Beatty of McCracken was fifth at 74.
The Wildcats will be on the course again on Saturday when they play in the Madisonville-North Hopkins Invitational at Lakeshore Country Club in Madisonville.
That event will begin at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start.
